Irene Adams Flynt

May 6, 1922 to February 17, 2010

Mrs. Irene Adams Flynt, 87, of 115 Safriet Loop, Statesville, died Feb. 17 2010 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

She was a native of Forsyth County, born May 6, 1922 a daughter of the late James Paul and Amanda Jane Vanhoy Adams.

Mrs. Flynt is survived by her husband of 47 years, William Flynt, whom she married in 1962. She had retired from Beaunit Mills. She was a member of Diamond Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by infant twins: Cynthia Diane and David Lewis and a daughter: Rose Marie Lewis, three brothers: Fred T. Ernest and Hilton A. Adams, three sisters: Beulah Woods, Dorothy Lee Pharr and Gertrude Jones.

In addition to her husband she is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services celebrating Mrs. Flynt's life will be held Saturday at 2 pm. in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Holleman officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 until 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemtery.
