Mrs. Lowe was a native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County and was a 1943 graduate of Marvin Pittman Laboratory School. Frances was a member of First Baptist Church of Statesboro, where she taught Sunday school for many years and retired from Belk after 19 years of service, where she was a seamstress. Frances was an avid gardener and was devoted to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Elliot McGlamery, Sr. and Marguerite Boyd McGlamery and her loving and devoted husband of 70 years, A. V. Lowe.
Mrs. Lowe is survived by her son, Don Lowe and his wife, Mary of Andover, Mass; daughter, Barbara Rushing and her husband, Jerry of Statesboro; brothers, James McGlamery of Louisiana; Joe McGlamery of Statesboro and Walter E. McGlamery, Jr. of Portal; sisters, Hazel Hartley of Savannah; Betty Ellis of Portal and Bonnie Campbell of Statesboro; two grandchildren, Mike Lowe of Andover, Mass and Jeremy Rushing and his wife, Evelyn of Athens, GA; one great-granddaughter, Issavo Rushing of Athens, GA; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm Friday, October 2, 2015 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, October 2, 2015 in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Mr. Joe McGlamery officiating. Burial will follow in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Bill Gilbert, Dean Gilbert, Steve Hartley, Marc van Maarland, David Thompson and Phil Campbell.
The family wishes to thank Gentiva Hospice and Willow Pond at Home for the excellent care given to Mrs. Lowe during her illness.
