It is with a very heavy heart that we say goodbye to our beloved Dad and Grandpa. After suffering his last stroke Mr. Theodore Petryczenko passed away peacefully Sunday December 8, 2024. Fitting, as Sunday is generally considered the "Lord's Day" in Christianity & a day of worship. Anyone who knew “Teddy” knew he was a very religious man.
Theodore spent one week in SI hospital ICU with his children by his side almost every minute. He is survived by his son Michael, daughter Francine, daughter-in-law Jennifer, son-in-law Craig & his 6 beautiful grandchildren, Michael, Alexandra, Jacqueline, Paul, Victoria and Thomas.
Teddy was born in 1932. He lost his dad as a teenager & his mom at the young of 23. He served in the military & was stationed in Korea for a time until he returned home & married his love Nancy in 1970. He often worked 2 jobs to support his family of 4. He was an extremely modest & positive person who always considered himself lucky. Anyone who ever met him, loved him instantly.
Family, friends, & their extended loved ones could feel the love he gave so unconditionally & generously through his prayers, hugs & kisses. Nothing will ever measure up to the smile & warm touch on the cheek or hand that you were met with each time. He leaves behind a legacy full of wonderful memories, & an image that his children, grandchildren & generations to come could be proud of. He will always be spoken of well & with the utmost respect & admiration. He is a true example of an amazing father, father-in-law, grandfather, uncle, cousin & friend. He was also a wonderful son & devoted loving husband & we know he is reunited with his parents whom he lost way too young & his beloved Nancy whom he missed terribly over the last 13 years. “Dad, Pops, Grandpa, Uncle Teddy, Teddy P, Mr. Petro”… whatever you knew him as, you knew you were blessed to have him in your life & he felt blessed to have you in his. We are grateful to have had him until the age of 92 but it goes without saying that it doesn’t lessen the void or minimize the painful feeling of loss. We understand that this comes from the tremendous gift of love & support he gave us, especially his children & grandchildren on a daily basis. Dad, your strong, religious beliefs aid in comforting us. You treated life as a journey towards home & it is the way that you spent that journey that we look up to you.
Rest in the sweetest peace Dad, you deserve it. Thank you for the best treasured memories anyone could ask for.
