Stephen Charles Redmond of Port Richmond passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 2, 2022. A lifelong Staten Island resident, he was born August 11, 1966 to Fred and Clairann (neé Harden) Redmond. The youngest of three sons, he grew up in Midland Beach and Grant City alongside his loving and supportive older brothers Fred Jr. and Vinny. He graduated from New Dorp High School in 1985 and later graduated from the College of Staten Island with a marketing degree. Steve went on to have a successful career in retail management, working at high-end stores like Saks Fifth Avenue, Kenneth Cole, among others.
For over 30 years, Steve lived with significant health complications due to Crohn’s disease. He underwent many operations and procedures, but continued to enjoy his life with friends and family.
Steve was a talented guitar player and performed with several bands on Staten Island over the years. He also loved to make his friends and family laugh, recording videos of his skits and jokes for all to enjoy. Steve was a diehard fan of the New York Yankees and New York Jets and liked going to games with his brothers.
Stephen was predeceased by his father, Fred Redmond Sr. in 2006. He is survived by his adoring mother, Clairann, his loving brothers and sisters-in-law Fred Jr. and Josephine, and Vinny and Julianne. He is survived by his niece, Melissa Feldman and her husband Ryan, his nephew, Fred Redmond III, and his great-niece Nora Feldman. He is also survived by cherished uncles and aunts, and many special cousins who he loved deeply. He leaves behind lifelong friends Tom McTigue and Ira Yellin, along with his friends at Joe Broadway’s who brought much joy to his life.
Arrangements will be Wednesday, December 7 from 9:00am to 12:00pm, with burial immediately following at Silver Mount Cemetery.
