Richard was born on March 1,1946 in Lancaster,PA. He relocated to Staten Island,NY in 1955. He attended Curtis High School and left prematurely at the age of 17 to join the United States Marine Corps. Richard defended our country by serving two tours in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1967 and married his High School "sweetheart" Camille in 1969.
Richard worked as a communication technician for New York Telephone, Avaya, Lucent Technologies and Verizon. Before retiring in 2004, he was the lead communication technician on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.
He devoted his time by joining the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 421 of which he served as Vice President and President. Richard and his comrades at the Post have contributed greatly to all Veterans in New York. He enjoyed spending time with his eleven grandchildren. Richard was also a baseball and football fan who followed the N.Y. Yankees and Washington Redskins. He also enjoyed playing golf with his close friends at Silver Lake Park on Staten Island.
Richard leaves behind his loving wife of 54 years Camille, his three sons Richard, Damien, Dustin and his daughter Deana.
A visitation for Richard will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Harmon Funeral Home, 571 Forest Ave, Staten Island, NY 10310.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America.
