Patricia Silas

Patercia was born on December 2, 1936 in Newark, NJ to Helen and Christy Genack. Patricia was a hairdresser and devoted mom. On May 5, 1957 she was married to James Silas. They had 3 children Tina, Jennifer and Demetri. They lived in Staten Island for their 50 years of marriage. Pat and Jim were also snowbirds in Tarpan Springs, Florida for 25 years.

Patricia enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.She was always smiling! She loved to paint, sing in the church choir and dance. She was a member of the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society. Patricia was a member with Jim at the RCYC where they spent time sailing and enjoying dinners with friends. In her life she was blessed with a loving family and many true friends.

Patricia was preceded by James Silas, Helen and Christy Genack, and sister Mary Coutros. She is survived by her children Tina and husband Dennis Szafran, Jennifer and husband James Uttaro, and son Demetri Silas. Patricia loved her grandchildren Denise Uttaro DeRosa and husband Charles, Thomas Uttaro, Elena Uttaro, Jaimie Szafran and Jackie Szafran. She was also blessed with great grandchildren Lily and Charles DeRosa. She was the perfect YaYa!

In Patricia’s memory donations can be made to Parkinson’s Foundation.

A funeral service for Patricia will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 1641 Richmond Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314. Following the funeral service will be a burial at 11:30 AM at Moravian Cemetery, 2205 Richmond Road, Staten Island, NY 10306.
