Patricia Geraghty, 88, loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend and teacher of Randall Manor passed away peacefully on January 4, 2022. Patricia was born on December 15, 1933 in Park Slope Brooklyn where she grew up and attended St. Saviour’s School and later graduated from Marymount College with a degree in Mathematics.
She was an accomplished math teacher at Erasmus Hall HS, Port Richmond HS and Notre Dame Academy before a long career teaching geometry at Monsignor Farrell HS. She was one of the first female lay teachers to join the faculty at Msgr. Farrell and she showed a particular devotion to tutoring young men who struggled in math. A member of Richmond County Country Club for over 50 years, Patricia also performed a great deal of charity and fundraising work for various island charities including Mount Manresa Retreat House, St Vincent’s Hospital and the Junior Visiting Nurses Association. Pat was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Church in West Brighton. An avid traveler, Pat enjoyed cruising around the world with her husband Ron while also having a great love for the beach. She and her family spent countless days enjoying the beautiful beaches of Long Beach Island or St. Thomas. Her greatest loves however were spending time with her family and watching college sports. She was an energetic cheerleader for her grandchildren as they participated in various sports throughout elementary school and high school. She was a proud grandmother who attended all events celebrating her grandchildren and her love of all children was demonstrated throughout her life. She loved to host parties for any of her family members and she treated her dear friends like family as well.
Patricia was predeceased by her husband Ronald (2009). She is survived by her daughter Carolyn Gannon (Timothy), Son Ronald Geraghty (Kerin) and daughter Gail Geraghty along with grandchildren Ron Geraghty (Sophie), James Geraghty, Katherine Geraghty, Timothy Gannon Jr., and Jack Geraghty.
