Josephine Del Gaudio, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024, just 3 weeks shy of her 92nd year. Born in Manhattan in 1932, Josephine grew up during the Great Depression, a time that shaped her resilient spirit and deep compassion for others. Over the course of nine decades, she bore witness to immense changes in the world, yet she remained steadfast in her faith in peace, love, and light.
Josephine lived a life rooted in kindness and spirituality. She was a guiding presence to those around her, always offering comfort, wisdom, and an open heart. She found joy in the simplest moments, radiating warmth and positivity, leaving behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
She is survived by her four devoted children: Humbert, Jeannine, Marilyn, and Edward. Josephine was the cherished grandmother of Anthony, Justine, Nicholas, Dominique, and Gabriella, and the proud great-grandmother of Evie and Amaris. She will be deeply missed by her brother Edward and her sister Carmen, as well as her daughters-in-law Jeannie and Teresa, and her son-in-law Albert. Josephine also leaves behind a large, loving extended family of nieces, nephews, and countless friends who will forever remember her generosity of spirit and unwavering kindness.
Josephine’s life was a testament to the power of love and community. Her gentle spirit and belief in the good in others will remain a shining light for all those fortunate enough to have known her. While she has left this world, her legacy of peace, love, and light will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
A visitation for Josephine will be held Friday, September 27, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314.
A celebration of life will occur Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, 350 Slosson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314.
A committal service will occur Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Peter's Cemetery, 52 Tyler Ave, New York, NY 10310.
