John "Jack" Valek passed away on September 2, 2016 at home in Todt Hill, Staten Island, surrounded by his loving family. A working man his whole life, he was a Foreman/Pressman for the Daily News for 45 years. He loved to Travel the world with his wife, Jean. Jack is survived by his loving wife Jean; his children Diane, Jack Jr., Joan and the late Robert as well as grandsons Anthony, Michael, Joseph, and Thomas and a granddaughter Amanda. He is also survived by his sisters Diane Valek, Marilyn Smith, and Elizabeth Balsamo.
