This is just one of my favorite memories of our Joannie, with her first born (Megan) and her first born’s first born (Izzie) , taken about two weeks after Izzie was born when I visited the new Mom and new Nana while visiting my New York family from my then-home in Washington State!  I have never seen Joannie (nor Megan) so happy, so in love with this tiny, beautiful baby girl, and so content in my life.  We love you and miss you Joannie everyday and on this third anniversary in Heaven, Little Cousin.  Mo (#7) and Norm

Thinking of our beautiful Angel Joannie today on her one-year anniversary in Heaven😇.  So many happy memories from childhood and as adults and family gatherings.

The three most memorable days at which I was present, in the life of Joannie when Joannie was, I believe, happiest were:  the day of Megan’s baby shower in 1984 when we had a ball making a “bow hat”that Joannie tried her hardest to balance on her very small head while struggling to stay upright late in her pregnancy on Joannie’s very tiny frame; the day I visited Joannie, Megan and Izzie at just two weeks old.  Joannie was so in love with her First’s First, basking in joy watching her little girl holding her baby girl.  I am sure the glow from Megan’s apartment could be seen from space.  The most recent memory was also a very happy one.  Joannie and Chris held a Memorial Day barbecue at their home for all the family the day after my happiest day; Norm’s and my Wedding  Day.  Joannie, surrounded by all seven of her siblings, children, Izzie and multiple nieces and nephews, including Great Nieces and nephews, Uncle Ed and Aunt Ruby and cousins, including us, together for the first time in years for a non-funeral event was “floating” that day.  Sadly, that was the last day I was with Joannie, living out-of-state and having medical problems which kept me from New York.  But, fortunately, I was there that day to see Joannie at one of her her happiest surrounded by her huge much-loved and loving family.  

And thank you Joannie, Our Angel, for watching  over us in the past year including your brothers, sisters, especially Patty and this sister #7.  Love and miss you forever, sweet Joannie.  ❤️🙏💙Mo and Norm 

I am Danielle , one of the very good  friends of Joannie’s niece Patty/daughter of Joannie’s sister Jeanne Donnelly.  Growing up I was many many times around the Mc Nichol Seacrest family.  They were and still are the most warming unselfish and unjudgemental people you will ever know , especially Joannie. Since I was young , she would always have a smile and treat me and everyone around her like she was her own , no matter what.  She would always talk , and show such affection and be so excited for yourself and others while talking about her family and friends,  especially her daughter Megan and and son Chris and her grandchildren.  She would always make you laugh and just make you feel so good.   I just wish she was here longer, because we need more of that beautiful positive spirit around more often in this world.   I will miss you Joannie and I hope we will see your happy face wherever we go , I love you Joannie , I am so glad I had the honor to know you the years I did 🙏you truly are an angel gone too soon, so very sorry to your beautiful family ....😔

In an ever-changing world, Joannie was a constant:  She exuded joy and warmth and made anyone around her feel better.  She was unique. Her smile & laugh were infectious.  She couldn’t say enough positive things about her children and grandchildren; she was the proudest Grandmother I ever met (and the most youthful).   I was very lucky to have Joannie as a true friend.  My deepest condolences to her wonderful family and countless friends. Keep her in your heart. 

Sincere condolences to Joanie’s family. She was a rare gem of a person. Filled with optimism and boundless adventure. As one of Joanie’s coworkers, I immensely enjoyed her love of life, family and friends. I will always remember how she told everyone she rode the elevator at work with about her new granddaughter Izzy. She’d unfold a string of photos. Prescious. She will be dearly missed. 

I had written how Joanie was a wonderful neighbor. A memory that comes to mind was when my sister Patricia had just adopted her daughter and she had to take a picture of her with a pet. She didn't have a pet so my sister asked Joanie if she could take a picture with her dog Lola. She said sure and my sister brought her daughter over and took several pictures of her and Lola.

Everyday at Todt Hill Urogic Group was a fun filled adventure with Joannie.   I will forever  remember Joannie’s love of life, quick wit & contagious laughter, but most of all  the love and pride she so held so dearly for her family. I’ll never forget when  she told me she announced on an elevator filled with strangers that she was a now a Nana after Izzy was born, her eyes twinkling, her smile beaming with love.,   You are gone too soon friend.. . My  love & deepest condolences to The Seacrest & McNichol Family..My heart breaks for you.  Rest In Heavenly Peace sweet Joannie, you will be  forever loved &  missed. 

My heartfelt condolences to Joannie's family. I had the pleasure of meeting Joannie in Nashville at the NCRA Conference in 2014.  Loved her sense of humor and have enjoyed seeing her life on Face Book. Rest in peace my friend. You were a true treasure.

We met on the bus stop near work. We chatted, we traveled together and we became friends. She was just that kind of person. Someone that was a genuinely warm, good person, Friend and confidant.  
Clearly, Joannie’s number one priority was her family. Her children, and siblings and especially grandchildren. She always tried to spend as much time as possible with them.  and  My memories of Joannie always make me smile. She will not be forgotten.  
I cannot comprehend the sorrow felt by her family at this time, but hope and pray that they find comfort in her memory and keep that memory alive.

I’d like to add to my memory posted last night about Joannie in the tea room demonstrating how to plank. Here is the proof of that. Joannie was bright and bold and hilarious. All of my memories of her bring a smile to my face. The world is a little dimmer without her. My deepest sympathies to all of Joannie’s family. 

I already left a short memory but to be honest when I was little and we moved out to Selden Long Island my grandfather or should I say our grandfather Pop asked my father if it was even in New York he had never heard of the town in Long Island and couldn't believe we were leaving Brooklyn but Summers were a blast I'll never forget a station wagon pulling up and Pop getting out and then all the McNichol kids and other cousins piling out of that station wagon I don't know how they fit everybody but kid upon kid would pile out of that car and then aunt and uncle's would also come out we had a pool in the backyard bless my mother because we had kids everywhere and when we first moved out there our living room had no furniture and all you would see was sleeping bags pillows blankets and kids head to toe I can't even count how many but what fun Summers we had playing with our cousins I'll never forget those days they were the best Joanie loved coming out and hanging out with everyone I don't think I've ever in all my life heard a negative thing come out of her she was always such a positive light in our family and that light will still shine as long as we remember her as such a lovely wonderful person that she was I will miss you cousin

My cousin Joannie was one of those rare people that made you feel good just to be around her. She loved people and always wanted to see the best in them. My memory is the time that a group of us, including my parents, went to have tea in Ellicott City, MD. Joanie, being a great storyteller, was sharing with us the latest craze on Staten Island (and probably elsewhere, but I was clueless). It was called planking. The way it worked was that people would randomly lay flat on their stomachs in public places, stiffen their bodies, and mimic being a board. She demonstrated it for us right there in the tea room by laying across two chairs.  After we all walked outside to wander through the shops, my 82 year-old father (Joannie's Uncle Eddie) spotted a bench and became inspired. Big smiles. You're never too old for a little fun.

Sympathy to Chris, Megan & family, Christopher & family from your Pennsylvania cousins.  I remember when Joannie came to our house - we live in rural western Pennsylvania.  She commented on how our driveway was our own road because we live in the country.  She had a hard time with our country living since she was use to the city life but she embraced it the best she could on all her visits to see us.  The last time I saw Joannie was for my Dad's (Uncle John) funeral -  Much love and prayers to the family.  Eternal rest grant unto Joannie & let perpetual light shine upon her.

So sad to hear about Joannie. I could still see that sweet little face she had as a child. My condolences to all of you. May she Rest In Peace

Joannie and I went all through elementary school together. I was quiet and shy. I remember Joannie always being outgoing and fun and wishing I could be like her.  I didn’t know whether she would even remember me once we left IHM. One day when we were both already raising our own kids, my doorbell rang and there was Joannie with a dirty gray kitten that she rescued from under a bus near IHM school after dropping her daughter off.  She said, “ I thought of you right away because I remember how much you liked animals and used to sneak food to the neighborhood stray cats and dogs.” I was so touched that she thought of me. And that kitten stayed with me for many years- we named him Smokey and I always told friends how Joannie McNichol had rescued him from under a bus and brought him to me. Smokey had a lively personality just like Joannie.

I met Joannie at Todt Hill Urologic Group in 2000  as co-workers.  We became instant friends. She always made me laugh. I enjoyed our talks walking through Great Kills Park.  I will always remember the day we walked 5 miles just talking.  Joannie was truly an amazing friend to me. I can’t imagine not calling her or getting her phone calls.  Have so many great memories that I will hold close to my heart forever. I pray for her family but know she is smiling down on them all. ❤️  Rest In Peace my dear friend

I met Joan several years ago while at work in the VA. Our  paths  should have never crossed, we didn’t have any reason to meet one another, but I do believe it was Gods way of putting somebody in my path that would be influential my life.
Joan would do anything for anybody and she left a legacy of How to be a Good Person. Anytime I see a penny on the floor I will pick it up and think of her.

I AM SO VERY SORRY TO HEAR OF JOANIE'S UNEXPECTED PASSING. I GREW UP WITH HER AND ALL HER SIBLINGS IN
 BROOKLYN AND WERE ALL GOOD FRIENDS AND STILL ARE TODAY. THEY ARE SUCH A WONDERFUL ,VERY CLOSE KNIT FAMILY. I CAN'T IMAGINE HOW THEY ARE FEELING LOSING ONE OF THEIR OWN SIBLINGS.  MY HEART GOES OUT TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF THEM AND MAY SHE REST IN PEACE IN HER NEW HOME. GOD BLESS HER FAMILY.

My sincerest condolences to Joannie's family.  My memories are many since I taught her in 7th and 8th grade at IHM.  My last memory of her was at the party when IHM closed....she ran up to me under one of the tents and said: "I am your favorite student , right."  When I agreed she was so happy and ran back to announce it to her friends.   She was always so exuberant and had such a zest for life.  She will be missed.

Joanie was a lovely neighbor. She always said hello when she saw us. She will be missed.  

Joanie was my co worker (Hem-Onc ) she participated with her adorable Izzy to help me decorate the ward. Give out gifts to patients .she was loving, great friend, awesome human being. I will miss her so much and will never forget her. I’m still dealing with her loss 😢😢God may have a special place for you in heaven . Sad I can’t be at your service . Joannie was my little cousin who I loved very much.  She was named after her Mom, Joan Haugh McMcNichol, who was my Dad’s little sister, who he loved very much.  Just like Joannie suddenly, tragically died too young at age 58, Joannie’s Mom passed at age 47 from a rare fatal blood disorder, leaving eight grief-striven children, six loving siblings and three young grandchildren behind.  Like her Mom, Joannie left seven grief-stricken siblings, two 
indescribably-loved children Megan and Chris and their life partners Rich and Katie and two adored granddaughters, Izzie and Demi  and a third grand baby on the way.  Much like her Mom, Joannie was “walking sunshine”.  She brightened everyone’s day and was the joy at every family event and pure joy in her family.  She was very bright,  so loving, so caring and so funny.  We were playmates every single Sunday our family visited our grandfather, Pop, as children, hung out as young adults sneaking to my bedroom through my parents’ bedroom on our bellies military-style after short-cutting over our back-fence after having enjoyed a fun night out dancing with friends.   Joannie loved recalling that story.  She also loved sharing how I failed my first assignment on taking care of her at her twin brother and sister’s baptism, an assignment I was given at age 5 to oversee 3 year old Joannie.  Curious, high-energy Joannie decided to leave the church out the back door and as I went out after her, I met Joannie being ushered back in by a policeman!   And Joannie was there to rescue me on my wedding day about 7 years ago.  She greeted me on the phone with such excitement that at age 54 I was getting married.  She had married her Chris at 20.  She reassured me that she would take of some issues which arose at our reception venue, told me she “got it” and said “this is your wedding day; you just enjoy it; I’ll take care of it”.  I knew she would.  Joannie was always there for everyone, our own Joan of Arc! I love you forever, Joannie.

We went to Minneapolis for work conference. But I thank God for that time getting to know Joanie more than a co-worker. I considered her as one of my good friends. She made the workplace, a home. She told me once that, we spend so much time at work, might as well try to make it feel like a home. I will seriously miss her.
