Irene C. Hunt

Irene C. Hunt, 79, passed away on Friday, July 28th at The Addeo Hospice House on the campus of Egger Nursing Home. Mrs. Hunt was the daughter of the late Charles and Mildred Mikulec. She was the beloved wife of John “Jack” Hunt and they were married 52 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son John Hunt Jr. and his wife Caroline, her daughter Erin Pezzella and her husband Wayne. Mrs. Hunt also has two grandchildren, James and Sean Hunt. She is also survived by her two sisters, Claudia Dollerd and Kathy Paolercio.

Mrs. Hunt was born on April 27th, 1938 on Staten Island, where she spent her entire life. She grew up in Grant City on Greeley Ave. Irene graduated from New Dorp High School and attended Wagner College. She also graduated from the Woods School, where she learned to be a legal secretary. She worked for both the John W. McGrath Corporation and Moore & McCormack. In addition, she sold real estate, worked in a doctor’s office and finally served as member of the Wagner College Library for sixteen years.

Mrs. Hunt enjoyed quilting, fashion, interior design, dogs, cats and animals of all kinds. Her passion was shopping and she pursued this to her fullest. She loved and supported her family throughout the years and she will be truly missed.

Family and Friends are welcome to call at the Harmon Funeral Home, 571 Forest Ave, Staten Island, N.Y. 10310 on Thursday, August 3rd from 5-9PM. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church at 11AM on Friday, August 4th.
