Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Born in Mineola LI NY.
Graduated from St. Paul's Preparatory school, Garden City LI NY —graduated from Wilmington College.
Served as a Marine assigned to Marine One Helicopter unit in Quantico until 1972.
Married for 33 years to his loving wife, Anne (DeVito) and is also survived by son, George, his wife,
Mary, and two grandchildren, Ryan and George„ stepdaughter, Donna and husband Eric Rowan.
Also, survived by his sister, Cornelia, living in Alabama, and many nieces and nephews.
He owned a pest control company in Manhattan, Banzai de Bug, since 1982. He also devoted his time to many organizations i.e.., Meals on Wheels, Five Flags, Cross Road Foundation and Bay Terrace
Beautification.
He was very active in his church, Holy Child. He enjoyed walking in Gateway Park, cleaning up his community, reading, traveling and was an avid scuba diver.
He and his wife traveled to many beautiful places including Japan, Italy, Ireland and Tahiti among many other places.
He was a proud member of the Marine Corp. League and the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club. He owned a
BMW touring motorcycle in which he and his wife enjoyed riding cross country and in Canada.
A visitation for George will be held Sunday, August 29, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, 30 Nelson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10308. A funeral service will occur Monday, August 30, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Holy Child Church, 4747 Amboy Road, Staten Island, NY 10312. A committal service will occur Monday, August 30, 2021 at 11:30 AM in Resurrection Cemetery, 361 Sharrott Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10309.
