A beloved husband he leaves behind his wife of almost 52 years April (nee Bellach), a daughter Jennifer Silverman and grandson David Silverman. He is predeceased by his son Edward, who passed in 2016. He is also survived by his sister Margaret Ann Sweeney, his brother James and sister in law Angie Sweeney, and his sister in law and brother in law June & Lou D'Elia. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, their children and grandchildren, extended family and friends.
After graduating Saint Peter's Boys High School, Ed proudly served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from the NYC Sanitation Department after 20 years as Supervisor at the Staten Island landfill barges. One not to be idle, he took a job as a school bus driver for 10 years with IC Charter with many of his friends.
Ed enjoyed spending time with his extensive family and was an avid history buff who enjoyed watching war movies with his grandson David. Win or lose, he also enjoyed frequent trips to Atlantic City with his beloved wife April. He also liked his weekly get togethers with his buddies at the Breakfast Club.
With Ed's great sense of humor and quick wit, he was always ready with a joke or tease and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
