Dorothy I. Fisher (nee Williams), 92, of Meiers Corners, Staten Island, N.Y., passed away on Feb. 9, 2017, at home. Born in Port Richmond, S.I., she attended Port Richmond High School and was a switchboard operator with New York Telephone Company and a homemaker. She was an animal lover and enjoyed ceramics, shopping and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Dorothy was the beloved wife of 71 years of Mr. Edward G. Fisher; mother of Karen E. Hurley, Edward Fisher, Thomas Fisher and the late Laurel Simpson, and the grandmother of Lauren Hurley-Scaramella, Derek Hurley, Amanda Fisher-Hubbard, Daniel Fisher, Brian Fisher and Michael Fisher. She also leaves her great-grandchildren, John-Paul Scaramella and Annelise Hubbard. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb. 12, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Casey Funeral Home. Funeral will be held on Monday, Feb. 13, at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment is private. Donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes, North Shore Animal League
