Daniel J Kelley

Daniel (Danny) J. Kelley, loving father, grandfather and brother passed away February 14, 2020. He was a native Staten Islander, son of the late John D. and Kathleen M. Kelley, growing up in Castleton Corners and later settling in Great Kills raising his family for over thirty years.

Daniel was the loving father of Thomas Kelley, daughter in law Melissa (Greaves), daughter Michele Giamboi and son in law Alexander. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Daniel J. in 2010.

Adoring grandfather of Danielle, Aria, Riley and Alexander. Beloved brother of Kevin and Neil Kelley and Sharon McClenin. Fond brother in law of Thomas McClenin and Irene Kelley. Also survived by several nephews and niece.

Danny was a Great Kills fixture around town. He was employed by the former PathMark and currently SuperFresh in Bay Terrace and Fuggetta Pools. When he wasn’t working at one job, he was performing at another. Danny was an Assistant Scout Master in St. Clare’s Troop 41 for many years during his sons’ childhood and beyond.

According to his daughter, Michele “He was one of nicest people that ever lived. He never had a bad word for or about anyone. He lived for his children and grandchildren. He will forever be honored and remembered by his family and friends.”

Visitation will be held at Casey McCallum Rice, South Shore Funeral Home on Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Clare’s RC Chruch, Monday, February 24, 2020 at 9:45am. Interment at The Cemetery of the Resurrection, Pleasant Plains.
