Jennifer Lynn (Caskey) Lopez

Jennifer Lynn (Caskey) Lopez, 68, of Gastonia passed away on Tuesday May 2, 2023. Jennifer was born February 11, 1955 in Lincolnton, North Carolina. Jennifer graduated with honors from Appalachia State University. She worked in the banking industry as a financial advisor, retiring from Wells Fargo in 2020. Jennifer liked to do puzzles and in her younger days she enjoyed traveling. Jennifer will be dearly missed.

Jennifer is the daughter of the late Dorcus “Dot” Hellen (Sigmon) Caskey and Floyd Thurman Caskey. Two of her brothers-in-law, Rick Noles and Bill Elmore, have also gone on before her.

Cherishing their memories of Jennifer are her husband of 24 ½ years, David Lopez, of the home and her two children, Sarah Jones of West Palm Beach, Florida and Greg Jones of Gastonia. She also leaves behind her sisters Victoria “Vickey” Goforth and her husband Rick of Henrico, North Carolina, Jane Noles of Lincolnton, and Susan Elmore of Alabama as well as brothers Jerry Caskey and his wife Brenda of Texas and Terry “Mickey” Caskey and his wife Ann of Newton, North Carolina. Jennifer was very fond of animals and she will be greeting her dog Gracie in heaven. She also leaves behind her daughter Sarah’s two dogs, Brody and Binky and her son Greg’s cat, Calli.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Saturday May 13, 2023 at Carothers Funeral Home in Stanley, 412 South Main Street, Stanley, North Carolina. A celebration of Jennifer’s life will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM in the chapel at Carothers in Stanley. Pastor Johnny Norton, of First United Methodist Church in Stanley is the officiant and he will offer works of encouragement and hope to those that gather to remember Jennifer. Mr. Ben Cockman will provide special music.
