Barry Thomas Pennington

Barry Pennington, 58, of Stanley passed away on Friday May 12, 2023 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia. Barry was a loving father. He was also a volunteer Fire Fighter for many years and also a first responder. He would do for anyone that needed help. He loved to play his harmonica. Barry will be missed by many.

Barry was born and raised in Gaston County. He was the son of the late Faye (Austin) Pennington and Ernest Franklin Pennington. Barry’s brother, Randy Pennington, also preceded him in death.

Barry leaves behind his loving wife, Sharon (Payne) Pennington and his daughter Jessica Pennington. Missing their brother are his sister, Trina Bowden and her husband Nathan and a sister in law, Lynne Pennington. His nieces Erica Powell and Krista Payne and nephews Carson Pennington and Thomas Pennington are grieving the loss of their uncle. Barry also leaves behind special friends, Margaret Tuttle, Gary Buchanan and Tim Connard. His loving and faithful dog, Goldie, was his constant companion and a great source of joy to Barry.

The family plans a celebration of life at a later date.
