Barbara attended North Belmont Elementary and Belmont High School.
She worked with Pharr Yarns for 47 and a half years. Barbara always emphasized the half year as it was very important to her!
Barbara was a long-time and faithful member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and most recently attended Sunset Forest Baptist Church with many of her family members.
She is survived by her brother, Johnny F. Chapman and wife Annie; daughters, Kimberly Armstrong Griffin and Shirley Armstrong Foor; granddaughter, Nannette Moore; great granddaughters, Sophie McDaniel and Sadie Moore and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by two husbands, Fred Armstrong and Lloyd Theel; son, Bryson Armstrong; sisters, Vera Pearson and Margaret Harvey; and brothers, Samuel Chapman and Raymond Chapman.
A visitation will be held from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Sunset Forest Baptist Church, 903 Hickory Grove Road, Gastonia, NC with the funeral service beginning at 2:30 pm. A committal service will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mt. Holly.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Pat Summitt Foundation for Alzheimer’s Research.
