Thaddeus was 86 years old. He was born in South Carolina and was the son of Nervis Cummings Murphy and Tim Murphy.
He will be remembered as a hard worker and was employed with UPS for over 40 years. He was a loving family man. His hobbies included reading, playing cards and watching his favorite shows. He proudly served in the United States Army.
Thaddeus is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Annie Frances Murphy. He also leaves behind his children, Rondy Murphy, Jackie Chandler (Jonathan), and Regina and Nicole Murphy. Thaddeus had a host of beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Paul and Sanders Murphy and a nephew, Melvin Murphy.
Friends and family are invited to calling hours, Wednesday, December 28, from 11am-12pm at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, in Stamford. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 12pm. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, 41 Hecker Avenue, in Darien.
