Born April 7, 1936 in New Rochelle, NY to Stephen F. and Mary J. Sullivan. Steve was a graduate of Stepinac HS and served with honor in the Marine Corps. He was a voracious reader and student of American history. He could cite all the major and minor generals and battles of the American Civil War. Many vacations were spent touring the battlefields and museums.
A lifelong model train builder. He created wonderfully complex and detailed train layouts throughout his life. Steve was also a woodworker (he had all the tools!) He created hundreds of gifts which he gave out to family and friends.
Steve loved his Big Band and Jazz records. He has an amazing collection. Playing the old hits and dancing with his girls gave him great joy.
Steve was a fantastic storyteller and great prankster. Although he was very serious when it came to rooting for his Boston Red Sox. Absolute joy and relief was delivered to him after 68 years when the Sawx won it all in 2004!!
Steve was a lifelong parishioner of the Catholic Church. He called St Augustine’s (Larchmont) and St Gregory’s (Harrison) home.
Steve Jr is survived by his wife of fifty one years Alice, his children Stephen III, Kathleen Mary, Amy Elizabeth (George), and his grandchildren Analisse, Jaden, Keilah, Chelsea and Lucas. In addition his loving sister Geraldine Kelley survives him. Steve was predeceased by his parents, sister MaryAnn Doetsch, brother in laws Richard Doetsch and George Kelley.
Above all he loved and cherished his family and will be forever missed.
