He was drafted while attending Stamford High School for service in the Army in WWII and fought in the Pacific, including Okinawa. He returned, finished his schooling and then married Madeline Farrell on September 20, 1947. He and Madeline remained lifelong residents of Stamford where they raised their three sons. Everett worked as a salesman for several food companies over a long career. He lovingly cared for his wife during her long illness from Alzheimer’s disease until her death.
In addition to his wife, Madeline, Everett was pre-deceased by his parents, his son David, and his brother and sister George and Lois Hunter. He is survived by sons James (Jean) of Houston, Paul (Lorraine) of Norwalk, and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will take place at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St Stamford on Wednesday May 10, 2017 at 10am. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
