Michael Theodore Steckler

He was preceded in death by his father, Ted Steckler of Stafford, VA. He is survived by his mother, Irene Steckler of Stafford, VA; sister, Patty Steckler, of Stafford, VA;, niece, Lena Steckler of Stafford, VA; brother Frank Steckler (Mary Cortez-Steckler); nephews, Alex and Landry of Murphy, TX; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Michael was born in Honolulu, HI. He received his JD from the University of Kansas in 1991. He worked

in Northern Virginia in the cybersecurity field until his illness in 2019. Michael had many interests

throughout his life. He was a prolific reader of history, science, and law. He was passionate about the

environment, loved fly fishing, was an avid Washington Nationals and Kansas Jawhawk fan, and enjoyed

watching movies. Michael’s generous spirit and thoughtful manner will be greatly missed by his family

and friends. We seek comfort from our cherished memories of him and he will remain forever in our

hearts.

A private viewing and prayer service will be held for family on March 14, 2022 at 11:00am at Mullins and

Thompson Funeral Service in Stafford, VA. Interment will be held at a later date.
