John Hannas, 52, of Stafford, VA, passed away on December 4, 2024. Born in 1972 in Illinois to Mike and Joan Hannas, John's early life was marked by the adventures of a Navy brat, living in Great Lakes, IL; San Diego, CA; Alexandria, VA and settling in his home in Stafford, VA.
A graduate of Bishop Ireton High School, John furthered his education at Purdue University and Northern Virginia Community College, earning an Associate's Degree. For the past 15 years, he dedicated his career to the field of Information Technology as a government contractor working for Peraton.
John's passions were many. He was an avid traveler, drawn to international destinations. He was a regular attendee at the Maryland Renaissance Festival and many conventions. Gaming and spending time with friends were cherished pastimes. His bond with Jeff and Mona was particularly special, as they treated him like family, sharing weekly dinners.
Preceded in death by his father, Mike Hannas, John is survived by his loving mother, Joan Hannas of Alexandria; his sister, Michelle Crabtree and her husband, John; his beloved niece, Emily Crabtree; his nephew, Tyler Crabtree; his aunt, Polly Silverman and her husband, Jon; his uncle, Jake Hannas and his wife, Carol; and many other cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on December 29, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Mount Vernon Country Club.
