Annette Dean Santos, lovingly known as “Angel”, was a beloved wife, mother to 4 children, and grandmother to 13 grandchildren, she entered into rest on July 4, 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 12, 1961 to Johnny and Annette Johnson, and moved to New Haven,Connecticut with her family as a child. She attended Richard C. Lee High School (C/O 1979), where she met her husband Wayne, who she married in 1982. She left New Haven, Connecticut in 1983 after her husband joined the Army. Over the course of 21 years of service, they lived in many places (Colorado, Germany, Kansas, Tennessee, Hawaii, Texas, and Georgia), meeting many friends along the way. In 1995, the family moved to Fort Gordon (Augusta), GA, where they purchased their first home and settled to raise their family of six. Inspired by the home buying process, Angel began her career as a Mortgage Loan Originator partnering with her husband as a Realtor, together they helped many families purchase their first home in Georgia and Texas. She later moved to Atlanta, Georgia with her daughter, where she remained until the time of her passing. Angel was known for her exceptional style and pizzazz, ability to do hair and makeup, her intelligence, strength, and caring spirit. She could light up any room with her smile, and make anyone laugh with her wit and charm. She grew up singing Soprano in the church choir. On weekends, you would find her cleaning her home with the windows up listening and singing along to Mary J Blidge - her favorite artist. She was a licensed cosmetologist and braider - and was known for her “microbraids” anywhere she lived. She was inspiring to many and was always willing to help anyone; her love for family and community found her often giving a helping hand, or being a bonus mom for neighboring kids and families. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and took special joy in watching her children mature into adulthood, have families of their own and fulfilling careers. She was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Johnson; mother-in-law, Lois Nance; father-in-law, James Nance; and her brother, Andre Johnson. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Santos; sons, Rashad Santos (Daneena) and their 2 children, Wayne Santos II (Tacora) and their 3 children, Jahmaal Santos (Emeeka) and their 8 children; daughter, Eboni Santos; her mother, Annette Johnson; sisters, April Johnson and Anita (Joel) Campbell; brother, Tremaine (Sharon) Johnson, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and relatives and friends, who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
