Bob is survived by his loving family; wife, Judith Robitshek, Sons, Brad and Monty Roberts (wife, Sarah), Grandchildren, Casey Bordelon (Charlie), John Bradley, Ashley Roberts, Danay Roberts, Azrielle Roberts, Tony Talamantez, Maelynn Roberts, and Great Grandchildren, Claire Bordelon and Asher Bordelon and numerous friends and extended family.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Ruth Robitshek and Brother, Douglas Robitshek and daughter, Robin Roberts Bradley.
Bob was a graduate of Oklahoma University. In his early years, Bob’s jovial personality brought to him to his job as a radio DJ in Houston, Missouri and Corpus Christi, Texas. He later enjoyed a career in the plumbing wholesale industry, which spanned over thirty years. Bob was founder, owner and operator of Flagstaff Plumbing Supply of which operated for over 13 years before selling the business to Morrison Supply where he continued in Management.
Over the past few years, Bob enjoyed volunteering and providing humanitarian aid working with Mercy Response in the US and in Haiti. More recently, Bob’s love was traveling to Matamoros, Mexico to work with Esperanza Viva Youth Home where all the kids there called the bald white man from Texas, “Grandpa”. Bob truly was proud to call the children of this orphanage his adopted Grand Children and loved working with them.
Visitation and viewing will be held at Earthman Funeral homes: 12555 South Kirkwood, Stafford, TX 77477 on Wednesday, October 29th from 9:30-10:30 am, services to follow thereafter. Internment, 1pm at Forest Park Cemetery 12800 Westheimer Road Houston, TX 77077.
Bob has requested donations in lieu of flowers to be donated to Esperanza Viva Youth Home, Matamoros. Donations can be sent to Katy Vineyard Church: 615 South Mason Road Katy, TX 77450, Reference: Matamoros Orphanage.
