Lupe Saldua Pena, Jr., a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away at the age of 75 on September 9, 2022, at his home in Missouri City, Texas. He died peacefully surrounded by his family.
He was born to Lupe and Laurentina Pena on August 4, 1947, in Sugar Land, Texas. After high school he received his associate’s degree at Wharton Jr. College and began a career in accounting. He worked for an import and export company in the ship channel for over 40 years. But his true passion was caring for his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Yolanda Pena and sisters, Gloria Alaniz, Susie Salazar and Stella Cortez. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Julie Guerrero. Lupe is also survived by his children; Deanna Infante (Robert Infante), Richard Guzman (Annette Guzman), Craig Pena (Brie Anna Pena) and Lupe (Pito) Pena III (Cynthia Pena). His numerous grandchildren Robert, Anthony and Veronica Infante; Jacob and Alana Guzman; Cruz, Noble and Covinn Pena; and Logan Pena, and great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Luciano Infante, and the vast amounts of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who he touched over the years.
The family would like to thank all those who visited Lupe in his final days and a special thanks to the Hospice Caregivers who brought peace to those final days.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 15 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, 12555 South Kirkwood Road in Stafford, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m., also in the chapel at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1510 5th Street in Missouri City.
The Rite of Committal will follow, via funeral procession to San Isidro Cemetery in Sugar Land.
