Diana Dora Perez, a cherished individual known for her extremely kind, loving and caring personality left us on September 26, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on May 14, 1971, Diana lived a life filled with tremendous passion, adventures that’ll live on, and left us with a laugh/smile so contagious it could make anyone smile.
She is survived by her husband, Fernando Perez, two daughters, Daniela Perez and Gabriela Hernandez, and brother Ernest Diaz whose lives were greatly enriched by Diana’s presence. Her presence leaves an unfillable void in their lives, amongst the lives of her in-laws, nieces and nephews she helped raise and witness grow up-yet they comfort in the memories and everlasting love they all shared with her.
Diana was an esteemed alumnus of Richard King High School located in Corpus Christi, Texas graduating in the academically challenging year of 1990. Participating in Color Guard, Volleyball and representing many other high honors clubs for high school, she was a shining example of how to think of others, a value that was central to her character. Her school years were marked by her kindness, empathy, and capacity to bring joy, fun times and endless adventures to those around her.
One of Diana’s most commendable accomplishments was serving the Marine Corps as a Lieutenant Colonel during the Operations Desert Storm in Iraq. Fighting for her country alongside her fellow Marines during the Gulf War was one of the proudest accomplishments that she cherished and shared with her closest ones. Her fight, honor and service will forever be appreciated by all of us.
Diana was known for her laugh, smile and love of 80’s music. She was the biggest fan of the show Friends, Modern Family, etc. and absolutely loved Charlie Brown. She loved to travel, go to concerts, take pictures, and hang out with her loved ones. She loved to dance with her husband, sing out loud (even if she didn’t know the words) play games like Loteria or Toma Todo- she was always the life of the party and her family and friends loved that about her.
Diana Perez, a true example of kindness and love will forever reside in our hearts. Her legacy, exemplified by her surrounding loved ones, will continue to inspire and guide us all. As we grapple with the loss of her physical presence, we find solace in knowing that her spirit lives on through her memories and love that she instilled in all of us.
Friends are invited to gather with the family and share remembrances of Diana during a reception to be held on Saturday, October 12 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the event room at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, 12555 South Kirkwood Road in Stafford, immediately followed by a celebration of Diana's life at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home.
