David Richards

David Anthony Richards was born on June 3rd, 1939 to Olga Mary Baugh and Arthur Samuel Richards in Coral Gables, Florida. He attended Brandon High School. He married Lucia Alvares de Moura on January 31st, 1959; widowed on August 1969 and married Barbara Carol Poroo in March 21, 1970, widowed on April 22, 2019.

David was a son, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved riding horses, fishing, boating, and flying. David was born and raised a catholic, attended daily mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic church in Sugar Land, was a 4th degree Knight, an Acolyte, Eucharistic minister and participated in several prayer groups throughout his life. Outside of church, he was chief radar man for the United States Coast Guard, Technical Director of the Cordage Institute, business owner, rope consultant, and private pilot. His life’s passion was centered on his immediate, extended, and adopted family.

David passed away on January 1st, 2020 after succumbing to a lung illness. He is survived by sons, Jacob Poroo, David Richards; daughters, Belinda Johnson, Laura Jacobs, Maria Henry and Sharon Eppolito; as well as 14 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
