ECKLUND, Robert Baxter Jr. of St. Petersburg, born in Chicago, IL on Nov. 6, 1940, passed Sept. 1, 2014. He joined the United States Army Reserves and served during the Vietnam era. Bob was employed at the St. Petersburg Times, and retired with 41 years of service. Bob is survived by his wife, Karen Ecklund; son, Robert L. Ecklund; daughters, Angie Rudisill and Crisha Thebeau; grandchildren, Savannah Ecklund, Hunter Rudisill and Jordan Thebeau; brother, Michael Ecklund; sister, Mary Bartolotta; nephews, James Ecklund, Michael Ecklund & Christopher Wood. Prede-ceased by his parents, Robert Baxter Ecklund Sr., and Jeanette Elizabeth Alpers Ecklund; brother James Ecklund; and sister Patricia Ecklund. Services to be held on Sept. 5, 2014 at Beach Memorial Chapel at 301 Corey Ave., St. Pete Beach, FL 33706; Gathering at 6pm, services will begin at 7pm. Flowers may be sent to the chapel.
