Green Bay obit Richard (Dick) Schultz, 80, South Pasadena FL, passed into Eternal Life on April 22, 2017 in St Petersburg FL, after undergoing many health problems. Dick was born October 27, 1936 to Frank & Jeannette (Dahl) Schultz in Duluth MN. He attended St Anthony’s Grade School, Duluth Cathedral High School and UMD. Dick worked as a postal clerk with the United States Postal Service for almost forty years ending his career at the Stamp Shoppe selling commemorative stamps to stamp collectors. He retired in 1996. As a Stamp Collector himself, Dick enjoyed introducing this hobby to others. Dick and Shirley Tomczak were married on June 13, 1964 at St Clements’s Catholic Church in Duluth. They enjoyed 52 years together. Acting in Community Theater was Dick’s avocation. He appeared in over 60 plays in various roles at Duluth Playhouse, Green Bay Community Theater, Evergreen Theater, Gulfport Community Players and Island Community Theater. As a member of the Skylight Players, Dick performed skits at various retirement homes. A big fan of Ogden Nash, Dick also performed one-man shows featuring the works of Ogden Nash. In 2014, Dick & Shirley moved from Wisconsin to the Tampa Bay area. They had been snow birds for ten years previously and enjoyed the warm winter weather. Dick was a member of the Pinellas County Celiacs, NARFE, the Minnesota Group, St Petersburg Stamp Club, St Petersburg Ostomy Group, Green Bay Ostomy group, Fox Valley Celiacs and the Green Bay Celiacs. As a member of St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Green Bay, Dick sang in the Adult Choir, and the Funeral Choir. He was a lector, Communion Distributor and Minister to the Homebound, as well as a member of the St Pat’s Men’s club and he called the Bingo games. He was currently a member of St. John Vianney Catholic parish on St. Pete’s Beach. Dick was very social person and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. He especially liked the reunions and the opportunity to reconnect with people he had not seen in a while. Of course, he really enjoyed the food that accompanied these occasions. Dick is survived by his wife, Shirley; sons Jeffery, St Pete’s Beach; and Richard (Amy Earling), Arden Hills, MN; one daughter Lisa (Robert Klopotek), Tampa; three grandchildren, Isaac Klopotek, Emma Schultz and Owen Schultz. He is further survived by sisters Jeannette Maki, Suamico, WI; Patricia Schultz-Waller and Deborah (Donald Johnson) of Duluth MN, a sister-in-law, Ina Schultz of Brule, WI; an uncle, Clarence Schultz, Washburn WI; an aunt Elaine Thoresen, Naperville, IL and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Frank Thomas, niece, Bridget Waller, Great nephew, Eric Bowden. The Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, April 29 at St Patrick Catholic Parish, Green Bay at 11:30 am. Wake services will be held on April 28 at 7:00pm at Blaney Funeral Home and visitation will be from 4pm to 7pm on Friday, and on Saturday from10:30 to the time of the Funeral Mass. Burial will be at Good Shepard Mausoleum.
