Janet was born on June 1, 1942 in Indianapolis, IN. She moved to Washington D.C. in 1964 where she worked as a Private Secretary to multiple Senators before moving to St. Pete Beach/Pass-a-Grille in the early 1980’s. She owned and operated 8th Ave. Market & Deli with her brother while enjoying beach life. Through most of the 1990”s she was a “nanny extraordinaire” for select local families and loved the gift of caring for children.
She was fearless, independent, adventurous, strong-willed and somewhat stubborn, these traits were part of who she was, she was a force of nature. Her strength knew NO BOUNDS and undoubtedly helped her deal with life’s challenges. On August 6, 2023, she celebrated 34 years in a 12-step fellowship where she was/is loved beyond words. She touched many lives and loved every minute of it.
Janet is survived by her devoted, beloved sister Marijo (Craig) Hutton of Indianapolis, IN; her adored brother John (Sheila) Harris of St. Pete. FL; 3 Nephews; 3 Nieces; 7 Great-Nephews and 6 Great –Nieces and many Greats she had yet to meet. She made an impact in many lives and she will be missed always. Gone from our sight, but never our hearts.
Service information will be revealed in the coming days.
