SELBERG, SHARON age 82, was born January 21, 1940 in Onamia, Minnesota, and passed away from a stroke on April 5, 2022. She is survived by her partner Steve Antenucci, brother Pat, and sons Shannon, Steven, and John with his wife Junko and their son Kai.
Sharon’s magic with props and sets helped make theater in the Twin Cities come alive. As a prop stylist and set dresser for more than four decades, she designed for the Ordway, Penumbra, the Fitzgerald, and many, many other theaters, as well as filmmakers and commercial photographers. At Theatre in the Round, she worked on 125+ productions, both designing shows and supporting artists, developed an extensive prop and set inventory and supervised its rentals to other theaters, and was instrumental in establishing the theatre as a major resource for the performing arts community of the Twin Cities. In recognition of her work, Sharon received the President’s Award for Outstanding Service to Theatre in the Round.
A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 from 2-4 pm at Wulff Funeral Home (1485 White Bear Ave, St. Paul). In lieu of flowers, gifts are suggested to the non-profit Midwest Animal Rescue & Services, Brooklyn Park.
