She is survived by children, Peter (Janie) Sauro, Deborah Modder, Pauletta Zappa, Jeannine (Tony) Olsen, and Gregory Sauro; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Stella Sauro and Jan Sauro; many nieces, nephews and friends. She will be greatly missed and forever loved.
Preceded in death by parents, Giuseppe and Jovina Sauro, ten siblings and their spouses, and son-in-law Harm Modder.
Ann graduated from Monroe High School as class valedictorian in 1953. She was employed by United Hospital in the medical staff office as an executive secretary until her retirement.
Ann embodied the spirit and warmth of her Italian heritage throughout her life. She was known for her generous heart, loving nature and strong faith. Her home was filled with the aroma of traditional Italian cooking which she lovingly prepared for family and friends. Family was the cornerstone of her life and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her family, Ann enjoyed collecting coins, stamps and gardening.
Visitation will be Monday, July 8, 2024 from 4 pm - 7 pm with Memory Sharing beginning at 6:30 pm at Wulff Funeral Home, 1485 White Bear Ave., St. Paul, MN 55102. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 11 am with Visitation one hour prior to service, from 10 - 11 am at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 398 W. Superior St., St. Paul, MN, 55102. A luncheon will immediately follow mass at the church. Entombment at Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights.
