Proud father of William John II, Neil J. and Jessica G. Beloved son of Dorothy (nee Ahrens) and the late S.A. Boxdorfer. Cherished brother of Buck (Gina), Jim (Terry), Matt (Rachel), Tee (Matt) Brogan, and Katie (Tom) Smith. Dear son-in-law of William and Joann Olliges. Beloved nephew of Fr. Bill Ahrens, Bob & Sally Bryant, and JoAnn McTigue. Awesome brother-in-law to Terri Powell, Bill (Bernadette) Olliges, Sharon (Skip) Gillman. Adored uncle to Nathaniel (Kim), Haley, Nick, Jake, Claire, Gretchen, Christian, Maddy, Damian, Molly, Jack, Rachel (Brian), Jennifer (Jason), Andrea (Ryan), Erica, Beth (Troy), Stephanie (Nate), and Michael. Great Uncle to Allison, Owen, Audrey, Grace, Claire, Will, Bennett, Keaton, Jonas, Eli, Scout, Reese, and Duke. Amazing cousin and friend to many. He had many, many late aunts & uncles whom he adored. He had a special place in his heart for his Perryville relatives, especially Windy, Lonnie, and Ruby. Man’s best friend to the late Baggs and Alpine.
At the time of his death, William was surrounded by family and friends while listening to “Quadrophenia” by The Who.
William was a proud graduate of Prep South class of 1979 and was the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Scholar-Athlete, a St. Louis University graduate (GO BILLIKENS!). Dedicated fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Blues. Admirer of music by The Who, Rush, The Beatles, Genesis and many more.
He had a love of great outdoors especially cutting grass at the country, fishing in Apple Creek, and activities with his buddies. He loved his gun collection. He was an avid reader.
William was a dedicated employee of Schnucks Market Inc. at the Bridgeton Warehouse since 1995. Prior to Schnucks Market Inc., he worked for National Supermarkets.
