RICHMOND, Ruth Marie (nee Kopf) 92 of St. Louis passed away peacefully on March 27, 2017. Beloved wife of 68 years to the late Donald W. Richmond; loving mother of Kathy (Ed) Cohrs, Cindy (Joe) Geis, Donna (Bill) Thomas, John (Mary Ann) Richmond and Sue (Terry) Koch; beloved grandmother of Dawn (Scott) Thompson, Susan (Jason) Grunow, Krista (Tom) Bilsten, Debbie (Rob) Weissler, Julie (John) Lewis, Marty (Jennifer) Richmond, Mike (Sarah) Richmond, Steve (Angie) Richmond, Rob (Madeline) Richmond, Mary Catherine (Micky) Deming, Paul Richmond and great-grandmother of Zoe, Ethan, Owen, and Carter Thompson, Elena,Wyatt and Sadie Grunow, Brooke and Hannah Bilsten, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Micah and Leah Weissler, Annabelle and Jack Lewis, Jordan and Cooper Richmond, Rose and Ellis Richmond, Olivia Richmond, Elle and George Richmond, Lydia and Mark Deming; loving sister of the late John Kopf; dear aunt, cousin and friend.
Mom was born and raised in Milwaukee until she married Dad and moved to St. Louis in 1946. She was a devoted, loving wife to Dad for 68 years. Mom was also a wonderful mother to her five children. She was blessed to have 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren whom she adored.
Mom and Dad were active charter members at South Webster Presbyterian Church since 1950 and later they became members of Webster Groves Presbyterian Church.
Mom was happiest when she was surrounded by family and friends, planning family vacations, spending time at Lake Sherwood or Cuba, Mo., visiting at our homes, attending family weddings, and doing her hobbies of knitting, making greeting cards, cooking and baking.
Mom and Dad moved to Meramec Bluffs in 2003 and it quickly felt like home. They were always busy enjoying all the activities and programs and making many new friends. Mom helped initiate the Easter egg hunt and the Bluff Buddies program.
Visitation 2 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Meramec Bluffs, 50 Meramec Trail, Ballwin, MO 63021. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 2:30 p.m. Contributions may be made to Washington University, Parkinsons Disease Research, C/O Dr. Perlmutter, 660 S.
