Ruth was born on December 11, 1923, in St. Louis, MO, the only child of Edna and Daniel Richardson. Preceding her in death were Ruth’s husband of forty years, Nicholas Bosch, Jr., and her husband of thirteen years Raymond Herbst. Ruth has two children, daughter, Terri Rose (husband, Dale) and son, Timothy Bosch (wife, Kathryn). Ruth was a loving grandmother to Daniel Rose, Matthew Bosch (wife, Chelsea) and David Bosch. She was a good friend to many.
Ruth graduated from Bayless High School in 1941 and later attended Miss Hickey’s Secretarial School. Over more than twenty-five years, she held several full-time positions at Storz Surgical Instrument Company. Following her retirement from Storz, Ruth worked part-time at a Hallmark store in Grasso Plaza and volunteered in St. Anthony’s hospice program. She was a member of St. Paul’s Church in Oakville. After living most of her life in South County, Ruth had been a resident of the Laclede Groves Care Center since 2008.
Until her stroke in 2004, Ruth led a very active life. Working outside the home, raising her children, and traveling to Canada, Australia, the Caribbean, Europe, Alaska, Scandinavia and other places throughout the United States.
Ruth was energetic, feisty, could lose her temper, but she was also quick to forgive. She will be missed by everyone that knew her for her vibrant personality, strong hugs, kisses, and tender encouragement.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 4pm until 8pm at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa at Watson. Funeral service to be held Saturday in the funeral home chapel at 10am. A private inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to Lutheran Senior Services Hospice Care or Epilepsy Foundation are preferred.
May Jesus hold Ruth in his arms as tightly as the hugs she gave to others.
