Those left behind to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Geralda (nee Ray) Smith, his children; Robert W. Smith, IV, and Kenneth E. Ray, his mother, Joanne (David) Hawkridge, and his stepmother, Cynthia Smith, along with his grandsons; Robert W. Smith, V., and Blake Loukas Smith. Robert was a loving brother, and brother-in-law to Jeffrey S. (Michelle) Smith, Jennifer (Christopher) Lawrimore, William R. Smith, Dr. Christina C. (Dr. Bradley Rohr) Hawkridge, Judith (Robert, Sr.) Watson, Irma (Charles, Jr.) Barge, Jayne (William, Sr.) King, and Kenneth P. McLeod. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Robert was a good, kind, and generous soul. His greatest joy in life was his loving wife, Geralda, with whom he shared a remarkable thirty-seven-year journey filled with boundless love, unwavering support, and endless adventures. Their bond was a testament to the strength of friendship, trust, and love. Together, they crafted a beautiful business known as “All Smiles & More,” specializing in crafting exquisite gift baskets with a particular focus on Easter baskets and Christmas stockings. Robert was not only a loving partner, but also a dedicated Army veteran who served his country with honor and pride.
Sports held a special place in Robert’s heart, and he was an avid fan of the LA Rams, from their time in Los Angeles to St. Louis and back to LA. His love for hockey knew no bounds, as he also became a fervent supporter of the LA Kings and later the warmed up to his beloved St. Louis Blues. Beyond his sports interest, Robert was an enthusiastic online gamer, embracing the world of virtual adventures with zest.
Robert leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the gift of bringing smiles to others. Robert will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to share in his remarkable journey.
A Gathering of family and friends for Robert will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Kriegshauser Mortuary-West Chapel, 9450 Olive Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63132, followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 PM, and ending the service with Full Military Honors. Immediately following the Memorial Service, the family will be gathering for repass here at the funeral home.
