Born to Bob and Florence Zielinski on March 11, 1949. Raised in Chicago, Illinois and moved to St. Louis in his early twenties for a job opportunity. With the help of his loving wife Mary, Bob ran a successful painting business for over 30 years, Zielinski Painting.
Bob was a faithful servant of God and attended Gateway 61 church in Chesterfield, MO. Bob lived every day for the Lord and his family, showing kindness to everyone he met. Rest assured that he is now in heaven, looking down on us and smiling. Probably living in a beautiful house by a lake with his dogs, Sandy and Red.
Among his many passions in life, there were few greater than his passion for sports. The St. Louis Blues, Cardinals and tennis were the most watched and recorded and re-watched. While the Blues never brought him home a Stanley Cup win, he still watched every game. Dan Reeves was his tennis partner who Bob shared so many laughs and steak dinners with. Towards the end of the game, this was always said in fun – Dan: “You gotta win by 2”, Bob. “How many?” Dan: “Two”.
Bob is survived by his parents Bob and Florence; 3 brothers and sister, Terri, Tom (Paula), Randy (JoAnne), Rick (Gerri); his beautiful wife Mary Zielinski of 40 years; his children Julie, Jan (Jon) & Joan (Silas); grandchildren Kayla, Thomas, Miles, Nessa, Ronan, Savannah, Silas & Sam. His involvement in his grandchildren’s life was beyond measure. He always went to their sports games, encouraging them at every kick, swing or throw. He would change a diaper if needed, but avoided it at every cost. He shared his wisdom, helping them be the best they could be in life.
Beloved uncle, friend, boss and neighbor.
