Mary Ann was the beloved mother of Kathy (Lorenzo Gonzalez) Merlo and Patty (Bill) Scherzinger; cherished Grammy of Jenny (Brian) Schmidt and Margaret (Jeremy) Ott; treasured Great-Grammy of Gertie, Willa, Jane, and Ruth; dear Zia Anna of Dolores (Vic) Locastro, Margaret (Michael Barnett) Zarinelli, Virginia Zarinelli, Angela (Dale) Oberkfell, David (Nancy) Zanaboni, and Paul (Ann) Zanaboni; dear great-aunt, great-grand aunt, and a loyal friend to many in her long life.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Battista and Teresa (nee Pastori) Zanaboni; her siblings Louise (the late John) Zarinelli and Joseph (the late Shirley) Zanaboni; her son-in-law, James Merlo; her niece Laura (Dan) Rabb and her nephew, Cody Locastro.
Mary Ann was a life-long parishioner of St. Ambrose. She spent many happy hours cleaning the church, volunteering at the St. Joseph Altar and LaFesta. She was a member of the Mt. Carmel Society.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary Ann's memory to St. Ambrose Eucharistic Ministry (by mail only), the St. Ambrose Senior Citizens Group (by mail only) or the Sick and Elderly Program of The Hill would be greatly appreciated by her family.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 11 from 9-10am at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church, 5130 Wilson Avenue 63110. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am. Interment immediately following at Resurrection Cemetery.
