Born with a vibrant spirit and a profound appreciation for the arts, Maria Cristina found joy in simple daily activities such as doing dishes and more creative pursuits like sewing, coloring with watercolor pens, and expressing herself through painting and drawing, especially trees and butterflies. A fan of Chuck Norris, she enjoyed his movies and shows, and her musical talents were expressed through playing the guitar and piano, with Willie Nelson's "Always on My Mind" holding a special place in her heart.
Maria Cristina was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith, which guided her through a life filled with love and artistry. Her legacy is cherished by her family, including her son Raul Garcia and his wife Karen, her daughter Rebecca McDermott and her husband Jeff, and her daughter Victoria Parkhurst and her husband Charles. Her life also blessed her with granddaughters Debbie Adams (Raymond), Maria Campbell, and Rashell McDermott, and grandsons Enrique, Noah McDermott, Jonathan, Jacob Garcia. Maria Cristina was preceded in death by her beloved husband Enrique Garcia, her son Enrique Garcia Jr., her grandson Richard "Tyson" Garcia, and her granddaughter Lori Campbell.
Her life will be honored and remembered at the Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, located at 6464 Chippewa, St Louis, MO 63109. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, August 31, 2024, from 9 AM to 10 AM, followed by a service at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Chuck Norris's foundation, kickstartkids.org, a cause close to M. Cristina's heart.
