He changed my life so much for the better that I continue to tell my family a friends how lucky I was to work for him.  I am sure I was only one of thousands that he put in the same position.

Jeff Miller. He was my father's brother, my uncle. I call to wish him a happy New Year. He ask about my father who was in a nursing home at the time. He said he would like to see his brother. I said OK. He said see you tomorrow.  He flew in with his sister Bea. On the way back from the airport he ask how much did it cost. I told him I have it covered. He then handed me a VERY LARGE CHECK. And said if my dad was alive In  two years call and he will send another. Two months later I called and told him my dad had pasted.  I ask him for his address too return the money saying thanks again but I thankfully didn't need it. He said have a good year and keep the money.      When you look up the word  MENSCH, You will see my uncle Lester's picture.

I first met Lester back in 1992, Quick interview and boom I was employed to help launch the Contico Europe DIY Division. 
So many fond memories, some great advice, so much admired, he was a perfect mentor for me. 
On 31st May 1995 we had the Royal visit to our facility in Cornwall England, Lester was most humbled to meet HRH Queen Elizabeth II. 
I recall meeting Lester in Belgium, we visited an important customer and then Lester said, I will travel to England with you, Marlene booked his flight. We travelled on the same plane but my ticket was business class and his economy, well I did get a telling off of course, and later when he got back to St Louis, the story was told many times, the message was out, the plane lands at the same time which ever class you are in, needless to say we all travelled economy thereafter. 
A couple of other memories, we lost a significant amount of business in one major DIY UK national retailer, travelling back to London on the train, Lester tapped my knee and said “ Don’t  worry Tom, it’s not your life or your wife, now take some time and rebuild your business”. What a man! 
Another time he was with me at a large multinational customers reception area when he saw a picture of a terminally ill child and a donation tin for collection to fund the child to go to Disney Paris. Lester asked the receptionist who was organising the collection, needless to say he then proceeded to contact the family and paid for them all to visit Disney Florida for a 10 day holiday, where I believe one of Lester’s daughters was working at that time. 
This gentleman is a one off, so humble, very funny, sometimes crazy,  very kind, great Entrepreneur, genius, visionary and most of all my mentor and friend. 
The world will miss you Mr. Miller. 
My sincere condolences to Bill and your Sisters, some of which I met. 
Rest in internal peace Lester.

Lester was such a great entertainer, so genuine and generous charming man. Lester gave my family and myself such fabulous memories a couple of which were on the luxury yacht MyContico as pictured 147’  beauty.

Lester Miller was a wonderful and very generous and giving person !
He hired and moved me from Dallas , Tx. to St. Louis in 1984 to run the Midwest territory for Continental Mfg.

When I arrived for my interview he said ‘TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD ‘ and I said ‘ YOU MAKE IT AND I’LL SELL IT ‘ and he said ‘
YOU’RE HIRED ‘ !!!!!!

I worked for Lester back in the days of Contico on Warson road and earth city.
He was a nice man to chat with when he came thru the warehouse even though my pay wasn’t very good back then. 
I patronized the restaurant also Lester’s bar and grill and it was good food.

Lester was a legend! He brought up a beautiful family of 7 .  Six girls  and one son. He worked hard to get where he was but he raised an amazing family! I am proud to say  what a great father he must have been to raise such humble loving children! RIP Lester!
