Stacey, we never met you, but your mother and father shared a special bond with you and were so happy when you were giving them a grandchild.  We knew Cindy from work @ Warson, and would always sit with them at the STL. Cards Games. They even came to Springfield to watch the farm team play.  We have  wonderful memories of those  times. Karl was a good friend and neighbor. He will be missed. 

Karl was such a kind friend. We loved having Karl in the family. If you could pick a person to bring into the family, he'd be who you would want. We loved coming to St. Louis from Chicago to see him and Cindy (who was like a sister to Madonna). While those two yakked in the kitchen, Karl and I would be out in the garage talking Cardinals baseball. I remember a few years ago when Mizzou played Northwestern in a bowl game, Karl and Stacy and I had our own viewing party with the friendly rivalry while Cindy and Madonna were upstairs watching Mama Mia. Such fun! Times with Karl were always like that. He was fun, kind and generous. We'll miss him. --Reed and Madonna

Karl always had a smile and twinkle in his eye. Family gatherings with him were lighthearted and fun. He loved Cindy dearly and their marriage was an example for others.

Iva , our family, and I are deeply saddened for the loss of Karl. Such a tribute he shared of the loss of his best friend , life partner, and wife when you would visit with him. Such an inspiration he was in making you aware of your relation ship with your own partner.  Always a kind man who loved his family and especially his grandson. Just recently he shared with Iva and I pictures of the Alaska trip he took with Staci and Matt. So hard to understand.
For Tyler: Know that no one loved you more than your Paw Paw. He will always be with you.



My friendship with Karl, though short, left me with a clear understanding of how deep his grief was in the loss of his precious wife. Through it he still had the ability to hand write thank you notes to his new-found neighbors and deliver each one personally.
What a kind and compassionate man!
Karl will remain a fond memory for all of us. We are Blessed and enriched by his friendship.

I met Karl and Cindy when they came to the Villas looking for a new home. I knew right away what great neighbors they would be!  Sadly, I didn’t get to know Cindy well, but Karl was more than a neighbor - he was a friend, a kind man, a loving dad and Paw Paw. He entrusted the care of his dear cat Skeeter to us, which was quite an honor!  
Karl has left a void in the hearts of many, including this community. We will miss the man, the smile, the laugh, but most of all the friend. 

Karl was such a fun, loving guy to be around! As we are all saddened with this tragedy, we always will have amazing memories with Karl. 

Many memories I have are from the lake, a place Karl loved dearly. Sitting on the deck, playing cards and dominos! 

You will forever be missed! 

Karl was such a nice man!!  Know that he loved his family especially our sweet baby Tyler!!  He loved the Blues and was excited he got to see one of the play off games!!  My thoughts are with you Matt and Stacy knowing your hearts are broken at this time.  All our hearts are!!  Try to think of the lovely memories you have knowing that he did love you very much!!
