Jen was a fiercely loving mother of two daughters, Story (age 17) and Annie (age 14), and her husband, Jay, as well as countless other friends around the world and her extended family, making each person she met feel like they were the most important person in the world because – deep in her heart – she always saw the beauty and special dignity of every human being. Jen loved working alongside her family in planting three churches (two in St. Louis and one in Austin, Texas), each of which displaying the mark of Jesus’ love and light which shined through her bright eyes, amazing smile, and warm touch. Infinitely compassionate, constantly encouraging, and brilliantly insightful, Jen was a therapist, providing a safe place for hundreds to bear their souls and heal through her counsel. She was a passionate lover of the shared experiences of a wonder-filled life: dancing at every opportunity, making a billion goofy faces, showing incredible hospitality in her home, and always laughing. She was always the brightest light in every room.
Jen physically leaves behind her husband Jay, daughters Story and Annie, parents Pat and Patsy Morley of Orlando, FL, and brother John and sister-in-law Laurelyn of Huntsville, AL, former sister-in-law Kristie of Oxford, AL, as well as beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, one nephew and countless friends, but she is still with them in soul and spirit and always will be until their physical reunion on the last day when “in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet” she will be changed, putting on “the imperishable immortality” that Jesus won for her and all who believe. Truly on that day “then shall come to pass the saying that is written: ‘Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?’” (1 Corinthians 15:52-55).
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 26 at Old Orchard Church in Webster Groves, Missouri.
