It's with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Jane Carol Daily Snyder, ED.D, on March 17, 2024, after a long illness. She is survived by two children, David W. Snyder (Brooke) and Mary Jane Snyder, and two grandchildren, Paxton Snyder and Austin Schoene.
Jane Snyder was born December 27, 1942, in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Roy Thomas Daily and Harriett Fenneman Daily. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Daily and sister, Bette Daily.
Jane was a third-generation educator and went on to have a fifty-year career in education. After graduating from Ohio State, she went on to teach English in Ohio, Connecticut, and Missouri. She was a guidance counselor in Webster Groves, Missouri, before becoming a program director for the US Small Business Administration (Veterans Entrepreneurial Training) and the U.S. Department of Education (Workplace Literacy). From 1995 until her retirement in 2014, Dr. Snyder was the Director of the Kinkel Center of Academic Resources and an Associate Professor of Behavioral Studies of Fontbonne University in Clayton, Missouri.
Jane had an amazing sense of humor, was the best story teller, and had a great impact on many students over the years. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be missed dearly by her friends and family.
A Gathering of Family and Friends for Jane will be held Friday, April 05, 2024, from 4:00 PM until the start of the Memorial Service at 5:30 PM at Kriegshauser Mortuary-West Chapel on 9450 Olive Blvd. St. Louis. 63132. During the gathering, the family invites you to partake in a casual light meal.
In lieu of flowers, tributes may be made in Jane's name to Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis or to Stray Rescue, 2320 Pine St., St. Louis, MO 63103.
