Helen was born on April 22, 1919 in Madison, Illinois and was united in marriage to Elmer R. Huber on October 22, 1939 in St. Louis, MO. Survivors include two sons, Richard (Dick) Huber and wife Rosemarie of Shawnee, KS and Gary Huber and wife Suzanne of St. Charles, MO; four grandsons, Richard Huber (Devy), Robert Huber (Lydia), Tim Huber (Dara) and Kevin Huber (Dena), two granddaughters, Paula Benefiel and Kimberly Baker (Steve); seven great-grandsons, Taylor Benefiel, Kyle Benefiel, Zack Baker, Alex Baker, Domenic Huber, Cole Huber and Jack Huber, four great-granddaughters, Katie Benefiel, Claire Huber, Zoe Huber and Audry Huber.
Helen was a member of Oak Hill Presbyterian Church, American Legion Auxiliary #555 and Meridian Lady M’s.
Helen enjoyed her neighbors and block parties on Oleatha St., her annual train trips to Kansas City, and that one special drink that Steve made at family events in St. Charles. Most of all, she spent considerable time playing cards and bingo and took great pride in winning.
SERVICE: Visitation Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 10:30 am – 1:30 pm at HOFFMEISTER COLONIAL MORTUARY, 6464 Chippewa St., St. Louis, MO 63109, Funeral Service at 1:30 pm following visitation. Burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO. Donations may be made to the Lutheran Sr. Services of St. Louis, 600 Breeze Park Dr., St. Charles, MO 63304.
