Fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother church, George “Bud” Henry Albers, Jr., age 86, of Washington, Missouri passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022. He was born December 6, 1935 to the late George, Sr., and Mary (nee Mayer) Albers. He was predeceased by his brother, William Albers.
Bud leaves behind his wife of forty-two years, Janet (nee James) along with his children, Sheila Webster, George (Sharon) Albers, III, and his step-children, Richard, (Linda) Deatherage, Denise (Mark) Coleman, and Michelle Deatherage. He also leaves behind a brother, James (Mary Lou) Albers, and a sister, Patricia Frizzell. He was a beloved grandfather to his eight grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.
Bud spent most of life dedicated to his work and providing for his family. He was known to be pretty handy at fixing things, and was willing to share his knowledge with a captive audience. Bud shared a love for soccer, he played when he was younger and later in life was a spectator. He was also an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
A visitation for Bud will be held Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road St. Louis, Missouri 63125. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur Monday, December 5, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 17 Joy Avenue St. Louis, Missouri 63119. Bud will be laid to rest at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri where he will receive Full Military Honors for his service in the United States Coast Guard.
