Gail Jean Kaufman, age 64, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Oliver, Sr., and Rose Kaufman; her parents, Burt and M. Joan Kaufman; and an infant son, Eric Michael Schamburg. Gail leaves behind her beloved daughter, Kathy Schaumburg; sisters, Anne Kaufman and Christine (Eric) Wallace; a dear aunt to Larry Kram, Lisa M. (Jeff) Johnston, Melody R. (Jeremy) Fogel; and great-aunt to Isabella and Jamison.
Gail was a devoted mother whose life was a testament to love and care. She dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her beloved Kathy, prioritizing her role as a mother. Her culinary talents graced various restaurants, and she joyfully extended that love to her family through hearty home-cooked meals. Gail found solace in visits to the Zoo and Grant’s Farm, reflecting her deep affection for animals. Branson, Missouri, held a special place in her heart, becoming a cherished travel destination. She found delight in immersing herself in the captivating world of Danielle Steel novels, savoring each word with literary joy. Her commitment to staying connected with the dramatic twists and turns of “The Young and the Restless” showcased her dedication to the small screen’s tales. Gail’s legacy is one of warmth, nurturing, and a passion for life’s simple pleasures. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A Visitation for Gail will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Kriegshauser Mortuary-West Chapel, 9450 Olive Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63132, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Gail will be laid to rest at Calvary Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
