Fred Thomas Murray Sr. was born June 30, 1942, in Bemis, Tennessee, a son of Everette and Thelma Murray, nee Duck. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Murray, nee Szarzynski; his children Susan Schober, Fred T. Murray Jr, Kevin Murray and Amy Murray; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. And we can’t forget his favorite son Buddy, who was given to Fred on Fathers’ Day nine years ago. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Charles, Bob and Everette Jr. Murray, and a sister Wanda Kay Murray. He was a loving cousin, uncle and brother-in-law, friend and neighbor.
Fred was a retired member of Teamsters 600 and worked for Roadway Trucking as a dock hand. He loved and was proud of his job. He also loved going back to Tennessee to hunt with his brother Charles and nephews. Fred was an avid fisherman, too.
A memorial visitation will be held from 9-10 am Saturday, February 10, at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Rd., St. Louis, Mo. 63125. A memorial service will begin at 10 am. Memorial donations may be made to Stray Rescue of St Louis or the charity of the donor's choice.
