Eugene (Gene) was born July 16, 1924 to Eugene Dorsey and Theresa Goestenkors Dorsey and was the oldest of four sons. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and later volunteered for the USO for many years. He married Eileen Brendle Dorsey on April 24, 1954. Together they had eight children. He was an award-winning salesman at Lindburg Cadillac for over 25 years. He was a licensed pilot and enjoyed fishing, boating, and snow skiing. A self-described raconteur, he was most importantly, a great son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eileen Brendle Dorsey, his parents and his three brothers Edwin (Louise), James (Laverne), and Alois Dorsey.
He is survived by his eight children Marie Swope (George), Eugene, Jr., Bernard (Natalie), Michael (Jennifer), John (Kelly), Matthew, Joseph, and Judy (Dan) and his grandchildren.
Following a private graveside service at Resurrection Cemetery, a memorial service is planned for Saturday November 20th from 3:00-4:00 p.m., followed by an open house from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. People wishing to honor Gene’s life can make donations to USO Lambert Field.
