Barbara A. Hajnal, age 83, formerly of Peoria, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022. She was born December 14, 1938. She was a graduate of Woodruff High School. Barbara married James P. Hajnal on November 18, 1967. Barbara was employed as a switchboard operator/dispatcher by Illinois Bell, St.Francis Hospital, and Bradley University. Barbara is survived by: her children: Kelly Long (Philip), Jim Hajnal (Kaylea); her grandchildren: Alex and Ryan Long, Laken Garcia (Jerry), Ethan Hajnal (Kelsey); her great-grandchildren: Milena, Isabella, Jay Garcia, Willow Hajnal; and her sister Pat Carroll; and nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Reba (nee: Morehead) and Clyde Murphy, and her husband James Hajnal.
Barbara was a member of Harvester Christian Church in St. Charles, MO, and VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 2602 in Peoria, IL. She was actively involved with Cursillo. Barbara also volunteered in Prison Ministry. She was an excellent artist who drew, painted, and wrote poetry and prose. She enjoyed flowers and gardening. She loved nature - especially bird watching. Barbara enjoyed her Bible Study Group at Harvester and being with her beloved family.
